Nursing Homes in Michigan

What is a Nursing Home?

nursinghomeNursing Homes or Skilled Nursing Facilities provide 24-hour a day skilled nursing care and are licensed to provide health care and services for individuals with complex medical needs both long term and short term. Many Nursing Homes are stand-alone facilities, but some operate in conjunction with a hospital, an Assisted Living Facility, or a Retirement Home.

What Services do Nursing Homes provide?

A Nursing Home provides constant medical care to its residents. They have on-site medical staff that includes registered nurses (RN), licensed practical nurses (LPN) and nurse’s aides (CNA) that are available 24 hours a day. Besides taking care of an individual’s medical needs, nursing homes provide mental, physical, and social stimulation. Any of the services provided by Assisted Living will also be given to the residents of a Nursing Home.

"Parents Changing Spaces has done all the "leg work" involved regarding assisted living facilities.  I did not have time to research these places as I was barely finding the time to care for my father and my family."
